I personally have never heard of Goidadin before this announcement but judging from an interview by UK Newspaper The Independent back in 1998, he is the ideal choice with a marketing plus fashion design background. Some things can’t be taught, and it seems like Goidadin back in his days as a Central St Martins graduate was quite commercially focused.
“The good thing about this degree is that the final collection can potentially be as mad as I want it to be,” says 23-year-old Goidadin. “We look at fashion from a wide and pragmatic point of view, so the end result is always backed up with a realistic and viable marketing strategy.”
Having been with Burberry for 12 years, it will be interesting to see what the relatively unknown Goidadin has to offer to the world.
As we bid adieu to Christopher Bailey as creative head, let’s have a look at my favourite fashion Burberry picks under his 6 year creative reign.
